The Lowe Family Young Scholars Program Executive Director, Karen Lowe, is available to present to organizations regarding opportunities for mentoring or possibly serving on a committee within the organization. If your group or organization would like to hear about the LFYS Program and opportunities the organization provides to serve your community, please contact Karen at 918-766-6675, or fill out the contact us form on our website. The organization currently needs additional male and female mentors for students ranging from 7th-10th grades. Mentors are a vital element to the LFYS Program as they assist in ensuring student academic success.
Students in the LFYS Program are mentored through their mid-high and high school years with college-focused students. The LFYS Program partners with Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Oklahoma. BBBS is a top notch program that has an excellent track record in making successful matches between students and mentors. Once the students complete the mentoring portion of the program, they may attend college at Oklahoma Wesleyan University, Oklahoma State University, or Rogers State University while receiving a scholarship of $2,000-$4,000 per year for up to four years.
